Canciones - Songs

If someone thinks that there isn't a person who likes Vocaloid and Seville's April Fair at the same time, he or she is wrong. That person does exist, though her craziness.

It is necessary to explain it? Sure it is. Because this two faces are opposite. To be otaku and to like flamenco, that is something that nobody has done before, I think. I've explained that Spanish otakus use to be "anti-tradition". And here people can accept flamencos very well, but otakus not so well. I don't understand this. For me, it's incredible not to feel passion for flamenco, the voice of hundreds of generations, talking to us about love and landscapes which I have loved since I was a child, wrapped in an ancient and misteriuous cry. And it's ABSOLUTELY incredible not to fall in love with kawaii Miku Hatsune's voice, virtual diva in shape of a Japanese school-girl with long aqua twintails. It's crazy not to like something so strong, so cool!!!!!

Modelitos - Outfits

At the beginning, I said that this blog pretended to be a new world, plenty of good things, leaving out the bad ones. And now, you see I'm writting about fashion or nail polish. Well, obviously I'm just a human being and I can't create -though I'd like- unseen things, so I take the beautiful and fun of what I know. For me, one way of beauty and art is fashion. Siento no saber explicarme bien. Fashion as art, not as imposition. I love fashion for fun, full of imagination, innocent, surprising, playful. And I hate when fashion is a way to look people from above without realizing that it's a game. Sorry, I can't express what I think properly. I love the crazy young Asian fashion, it genious!

Spring again 2012 - Primavera otra vez

Yes, it's coming. The sun shines warmer day by day, the nightfall is delayed little by little... A really lazy girl writes a post about nail art... No doubt, spring is around the corner.... I've had a look at Nail up magazine in ekiblog.com and I've been shocked by the beauty of the "Japanese nail art culture". I know someone could say I'm crazy but I think is well called "art", because the majestry and delicate trace of the designs is just awesome. This is my little attempt xD. Here in Spain we don't have specialized shops or brands. Nail art is not so popular. I dare to say that nail art is only reserved to special events or very fashionable people. Even fashionable people just use nail polish, Nail art is here in its beginnings. I think it's more popular among young girls who are into Asian fashion. And as you know, there are a lot.

Hopes bloom - Las esperanzas florecen

Okinawa, Japan : Andalusia, Spain : These flowers are called "geranios" and are very common here... Typical Spanish, I think.

Traditions and religion: Easter- Semana Santa

If I really want to write a blog about Spain and Japan, and explain why I said there are some simmilarities, I have to write about Easter. You know, I've watched hundreds of animes, and sometimes, I saw images which reminded me of my culture. Right now you must be thinking "Spain and Japan, simmilar? Please, let me explain. I'm not an expert, oh no. I only talk about impressions. While watching animes and documentaries I've been able to see images like this: Por favor, dejad que lo explique antes de que me colguéis por loca. Sólo hablo de mis impresiones. Viendo animes y documentales, pude ver algunas imágenes como éstas:
And now please compare those photos to these ones: Y ahora por favor, comparad con éstas:
This is Easter at Málaga, in South of Spain. My first thought was: "Wow, maybe a Japanese girl is feeling something simmilar to this at the traditional festival in her town"... The crowds of people, the golden thrones illuminated on the night, the strenght of men who carry on their shoulders the sculptures... We are the opposite, but in the bottom of heart, maybe we share something... Isn't that magical? ¿No parece mágico?
Well, the reality is that I don't know ANYTHING about traditional festivals or religion in Japan, so I'm going to tell you what I know, which is my culture.
As the majority of otakus, I'm not a traditional person, nor a very religious person. As I told you, otakus and geeks of Japan tend to separate from every Spanish form. But, well, I'm so strange and eclectic. I find there is much plastic and visual beauty in Easter.
Many of you know that the most part of population in Spain is Catholic. That means that they believe in Christ as the Son of God -and the materialization of God on Earth - and that he was born of the Virgin Maria, who got pregnant whithout relations with a man, by the Holy Spirit. The "legal" father of Jesus was Saint Josef. So, we are Christians, but Catholics believe in Jesus asGod and Son of God, and they believe also in Santa María, as well as many other Saints, canonized by the Vaticano.
Ok xD This is much extended text, sorry. Easter is a week, which takes place at the first full moon of Spring. It is supposed that in this week, the "procesiones" and thrones for the streets which are normally in the temples, are to remember how Jesus, the Son of God, lived as a human and died crucifixed, to wash away all our sins and give us the opportunity to follow his teachings and go to eternal life and resurrection. This is the theory. Now I'm going to describe you the "procesiones".
This "festival" has many centuries of history. In Medium Age they started, I think. And in the XVII century they got their maximum. Churchs paid to great artists to make very realistic sculptures of the image of Christ on the Cross, bleeding and suffering. This was made to make people commiserate of the pain of Jesus, who loved us to that point, and think in Heaven, although this life was painful. On the other hand, we had the image of Maria, a sweet virginal and loving Mother, sometimes as a Queen of Heavens, sometimes as a crying mother, suffering for the death of her Son. Santa Maria was the most beautiful image to the peoples, so she got "popular", and many people prayed to Maria better than to God himself, as she was a loving mother...
Nowadays, tourists feel afraid or strange when they see the sculptures of a crucifixed man, almost naked, bleeding, tortured.... on the middle of the streets and Spanish people don't realize it, because we have this tradition or history. But really, I understand them, ha ha...
I told you the theory, but reality is that many people have their "favourite" image or Christ or María, and they pray to them and try to go with the throne in the "procesion". It's as they were many Christs or Marías, many "gods".
I keep to myself my believings, but I find Easter is beautiful in some aspects: it's difficult to say. People stand many hours on the streets, from afternoon to night, waiting for the "procesiones". Childs play around, get little toy trompets, eat sweets near her parents. Teenagers go here and there, well dressed, with last Spring trends, and maybe, flirt.... Spring is in the air. "Golondrinas" (sorry, I don't know the English word), a bird who comes with Spring, fly and sing in the skies...
Endless lines of "nazarenos", who light their candles in the evening, pass away... When I was a child, I was afraid of them, because I thought they were'nt persons, and that the shape of their heads was natural... "Nazarenos" have their history too, but sorry, it's too late, and I don't know that much.
Now, please, let me know of your festivals, and if you like something about them.

Primavera en Andalucía- Spring in Andalusia

I told you there were things that I wanted you to know about my birth place. Usually, Spanish otakus dislike the place where they were born. I think they don't like the most typical aspects of Spanish culture, and that's the reason why they look for far-away cultures( Japanese). This is what I think.

In fact, you Japanese have things we don't have here. The most difficult thing is that we don't have concept of "kawaii", because the more simmilar word is "mono" o "mona", "bonito", and this word can be used for children or animals, mainly. Here, a really beautiful woman must be sexy, pretty and with strong personality, totally adult. Of course, teenagers or little girls can be "monas", but they aren't considered "real" women...

What I mean is that for Spanish otakus, who are in love with your "kawaii" concept, Spain is completely boring... Everyday I think to myself how can a whole culture exist without the prettiest things in life... The only accesories shop that we could give the name of "kawaii" arrived to my city two years ago. We'll go mad if this continues this way.

Sorry, I'm talking too much. I wanted to show you things of Spain that don't exist in Japan, probably. Just because I'm not blind, and I can appreciate beauty, Japanese, Spanish or not... And something I love is Spring.

I've seen so many times sakura flowers in anime and doramas. It must be magical. But here in Spain there is something pretty, too. And it is the blooming of azahar.

Here in Andalusia we have many orange trees. When Spring arrives, they shows full of oranges, which gives a lot of colour to gardens and places. And the best thing is that they have a little white flowers called "azahar flowers", which gives a delicious scent. It's a sweet, non-heavy scent. The only word I can use to describe it is "love" or "Spring". When I pass a typical Andalusian garden and I smell this parfum, it doesn't matter if I'm sad, I feel alive and I remember good emotions.

I'll be updating with drawings, which I've named "Microsueños". In these drawings I'll make true my wishes of joining Spain &Japan best things.

Words to my dream, Japan

My apologies. I don't Know why, everything I did was creating a blog about my wishes on erasing this world full of things we can't control... And a second after, without time to explain my projects and reasons, this happens in my loved Japan... I feel as my words had brought bad luck... do you understand me?

This was the reason why I wanted to create a new world, to keep there the wonders of my country and Japan. Because in this reality, in this world, we depend on too many things, and many things can hurt us. And beauty and happiness should be free from all that. That was the reason for this blog. Being another dimension. Another dimension to escape from everything.

They say Spain is a feeling. At least, the South that I know. I'm from Spain, so I can understand that sentence very well. I think that the memories of my childhood are related to my city streets forever. I'll never forget the scent on a summer evening by the seaside, or a night in a festival. The ambient, the sounds. The places, the people. They are things that I love. Pieces of beauty which I'll keep forever.

Sólo pensarlo me pone triste. Sometimes, while watching the big disasters in other countries like Haití, Chile, China, Indonesia... I wondered what would happen to me if the streets of my city, of this Costa del Sol, were devasted by some disaster. I'd feel that they are stealing a piece of my soul. But, really, could a tsunami or whatever take away the persons or the places that you love?

They say Spain is a feeling. To me, Japan is a dream, a brilliant dream. A tsunami, a nuclear risk... won't erase a little bit of this feeling, this dream. As Japan is suffering, it hurts me, but I know Japan will stand up, even stronger than before. That's the way they are. I'm Spanish but I feel Japan, because it's more than an island. Don't forget that our land is that which we keep in our heart, not what is under our feet. I mean, don't be scared of damn reality... The valuable things, the memories of the people we loved and the things we liked, culture and beauty, won't dissapear as long as we keep them inside our heart. Cry for the deads, and then please, continue being happy, fantastic, awesome and brilliant, for them.

Mi nuevo mundo - A New World

I'm going to tell you an ancient story: I was born, I grew up, I got deceived by world and I almost resigned myself. It's a very ancient story, isn't it?

Introductions are unnecessary: my real life isn't important, I think. I have a work that I hate, I haven't found love and I don't understand many things of life. I've ended up hating this world, and the only thing I have left is my egotism, and my imagination, to be happy. It's the only authenthic thing I keep inside, and with it I'm going to create a new world.

There are only a few things I like of this world, and they are those which have rebeled against tiranic rules of Time, Space and bleh bleh bleh... Those which have run away from boring Humanity. I like art, fashion, manga and anime, and we could say I'm a geek of Japan. But I realize that the Japan we - western nerds and otakus- love isn't exactly the real Japan. What I mean is that I love Japan for one reason: Japan is so great because of the infinite capacity of imagination and creation in its small island. Only there, Lolitas have decided to kick History and Time and wear victorian dresses to have some tea, for example.

I'm not japanese, I'll never be one; that's something I know very well. I'm Spanish. Here, for the moment, you can't escape from the damn reality. And if you try, they probably say that you are mad. There are things I love from my country, but, you know, sometimes Spring in Andalusia would be even more beautiful if there weren't some closed-minded people. I'm sure it's the same in Japan. Probably.

But anything matters. Not now. Do you know something of the Bible? The "Apocalipsis" tells the End of the World. Sometimes, as Haruhi Suzumiya does, I wouldn't mind everything were erased suddenly. So, I'll do it! But I'll keep only the things I like. There are beautiful things in Spain too, I'd like to tell you. I think Japan and Spain have something simmilar, I don't know why... And my perfect world would have the best of both, and others parts of the globe, of course. I invite you to follow me, if you want.

^^ I've always dreamed of saying this line of the Apocalipsis: "All the things before have passed away".
